BlueCat announced Horizon, a SaaS-based platform giving a unified control plane over DNS, DHCP, IPAM, security and observability, deployable in hybrid or multicloud environments, in the data centre, at remote or branch locations and via SD-WAN, with services able to keep running locally via agents and service points.
Private Equity Wire, citing a Reuters report, said Audax Private Equity was exploring a sale of BlueCat Networks that could exceed US$1.5 billion. Audax, which acquired BlueCat in 2022, appointed JPMorgan to manage the process. BlueCat was described as generating over US$100 million in annual revenue, with a potential valuation of US$1.5-2 billion.
BlueCat agreed to acquire network observability vendor LiveAction, Inc. from Insight Partners, which stays on as a minority investor. Financial terms were not disclosed and the transaction was expected to close in October.
