Horizon Aircraft selected BETA Technologies to supply the flight control computers and software for its Cavorite X7 hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft, supporting development, testing and certification of the programme.
Horizon Aircraft and Marshall Aerospace completed a flight dynamics and control model to support development and certification of Horizon’s hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft, working with Marshall’s Aero Engineering Services.
Horizon Aircraft partnered with MHI RJ Aviation Group to further develop the Cavorite X7. MHIRJ engineering services will design and optimize flight test instrumentation, with the flight test programme anticipated to start in early 2027.
Aviation Week reported from the Singapore Airshow that Horizon Aircraft is simplifying the configuration of its full-scale fan-in-wing Cavorite X7 hybrid-electric VTOL prototype, assembly of which is underway, compared with the 22-ft-wingspan subscale demonstrator that used 14 lifter units.
Horizon Aircraft shared technical updates on the full-scale Cavorite X7, following the May 2025 transition flight of its large-scale prototype that validated its patented fan-in-wing technology. The refined design was developed with mobility designer Andrea Mocellin.
