St. Jacobs maker of whole-slide pathology scanners, pairing scanning laser imaging technology commercialized from the University of Waterloo with image-management and AI-assisted analysis software for clinical and research labs.

Canadian innovation builds a brighter tomorrow.
Huron Technologies traces its origin to 1994, when Biomedical Photometrics Inc. was "founded to commercialize scanning laser imaging technology developed at the University of Waterloo". Its company page states that the team has "been involved in the development of imaging systems for more than 20 years", and lists Audil Virk as president, Savvas Damaskinos as chief technology officer and Savvas Chamberlain as chairman of the board. The company builds whole-slide scanners for pathology alongside the SlideVault image-management platform, and rebranded from Huron Digital Pathology in March 2026 to reflect its expansion beyond digital pathology.
